Basmati fried rice with shrimps- my recipe

So yesterday I was home alone and didn't know what to prepare for lunch then I remembered I had some shrimps in the freezer so I brought them out cleaned and deveined them. After that I thought to myself that this would totally go well with some basmati rice. Most times I cook I usually make do with whatever I see in the house and it usually turns out awesome lol not to brag. I will be sharing the recipe today and I hope you guys find it really easy to do.

Ingredients
Fresh shrimps - 1 cup
Basmati rice - 1 and a half derica (naija measurement)/ 3 cups
Green pepper - 1 large
Ata rodo- 4 small
Onions- 1 large bulb
Salt- 2 teaspoons
Knorr cubes- 4 and a half
Curry- 2 teaspoons
Tyme- 1 and a half teaspoons
Garlic powder- half a teaspoon
Oyster sauce- 1 teaspoon
Olive oil- 2 tablespoons
Butter- 20g
Water

Preparation
1. Set out all the ingredients needed.
2. Remove the shrimps from the shell and devein, making sure no dirt is left.
3. Wash the rice thoroughly, I add salt to wash mine it helps to bring out more starch from the rice.
4. Put a substantial amount of water in the pot making sure the water is twice the amount of rice and start to boil.
5. Dice the onions, ata rodo and green pepper on a chopping board.
6. Pour the olive oil into the frying pan and add the shrimps, stir fry slowly.
7. When the shrimps looks like it is almost ready add a pinch of salt, half a Knorr cube, half a teaspoon of the garlic powder and the oyster sauce. After that, add the chopped vegetables into the pan and fry all togeda for about 3 minutes.
8. Parboil the rice by pouring it into a sieve.
9. While the rice is still in the seive, melt the butter in the same pot being used for the rice then add the rice back into the pot.
10. Add the curry, thyme, 4 Knorr cubes and 2 teaspoons of salt into the rice , stir all togeda using a wooden spoon and add water. Making sure the water added just lies on the top of the rice.
11. After 10 minutes add the shrimps along with the vegetables into the rice.
12. Check the rice again after another 10 minutes, it should be ready and if not wait till all the water has dried up.

Notes
This goes well with grilled chicken or fish.
You can spice up the recipe by adding carrots, spring onions and sweet corn.
Like I said this is a meal prepared using a few ingredients found in the kitchen, it can still be reviewed.
Make sure you cook at medium heat so the rice doesn't burn and remain uncooked.
Lower the heat to simmer after adding the vegetables and the shrimps into the rice.
